Sharon Stevens, LMSW, AAPS, EAGALA I –

Sharon is a Licensed Master Social Worker who offers fourteen years of experience in the mental health field working with individual who struggle with loss and grief, depression and anxiety, marital conflicts and anger management issues.  She has specialized training with children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbances, has facilitated Common Sense parenting classes, is a certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and is certified in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.  Sharon conducts the divorce impact class.  She has three children and is very involved in the McPherson Community and her church.

Joyce, Kyle, LSCSW –

Joyce is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker who has had 16 years of experience in the field of mental health.  Joyce’s focus and training has been on women’s issues, play therapy with children who have severe and emotional disturbance, family and marital therapy.  She has worked with individuals on grief/loss issues, anger management, parenting problems, depression, anxiety and domestic violence.  Joyce is a Christian counselor who is very involved in her community and church.  She is a member and on the board of Kansas Association of Play Therapy and on the board of Communities in Schools in Marion County.

Linda Helmer, LSCSW, AAPS, EAGALA II –

Linda is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker, Addiction Abuse Prevention Services, Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Associated Level II.  Linda has seventeen years of experience in the mental health field.  Linda’s work has included an emphasis on chemical addiction, domestic violence, critical incident stress debriefing, chemical addictions, equine assisted team building and aging.  She is a member of NASW (National Association of Social Workers) and EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association)  Linda is active in the McPherson Community and in her church.

Irene Werth, ARNP -

Irene has worked at St. Frances Academy in Salina as a Registered Nurse Practitioner for many years.  She has worked with a variety of children and adults with mental health issues.  She is a proud mother and grandmother and has a strong faith in God.

Judy Weber, CADC III (Certified Alcohol/Drug Prevention Counselor), AAPS (Addiction and Prevention Services) -

Judy began working in the alcohol and drug field, of the St. John's Treatment Center in Salina in 1973.  In 1974 CKF (Central Kansas Foundation) opened their office and her as the facilitator of the 3rd Alcohol Information School in the state of Kansas.  She did evaluations for the courts, individual counseling and taught the ADIS (Alcohol Drug Information School), recruiting speakers, educating Judges and Attorneys and introducing "treatment" to the community.  She worked with the courts in five counties and was involved in establishing the original Counselor's Association and the Alcohol Safety Action Program, called ADSAP.  For the next 20 years she worked in various positions dealing with alcohol and drug treatment.  She was the director of an in-patient treatment unit, worked with the Domestic Violence Assn. as an outreach person.

 

She currently does periodic alcohol and drug evaluations for attorney's DUI clients, facilitate a one night a week Relapse Prevention Group for Community Corrections in Salina and the Alcohol and Drug Information School in McPherson one Saturday a month.  She is a member of the Counselor's Assn of Kansas and NADAC (National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors).

Jay is an Equine Specialist, a graduate of KARL (Kansas Agricultural Rural Leadership), and a respected local farmer. Jay is active in Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee, Farm Bureau, and is an accomplished musician. Jay is a member of Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA).

John is an Equine Specialist for the team. He has been active in his field as a paramedic for 10 years. He has 10 years prior experience working with adults who have mental retardation. John is also involved in the McPherson Community as a reserve sheriff and is a specialty teacher at the high school.  He is a member of Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA).
